Saving lives one grant at a time

Weight Loss Surgery Patient Sarah is working on her Grant, lets all help her along the way!

Sarah Halbrook accepts her WLSFA Surgery Grant May 14,2010 ( Antonia Namnath and Troy Hopper in background)

Sarah Halbrook had weight loss surgery in March of 2009 and has lost an astounding 202 pounds. Sarah enjoys her healthy body and celebrates life by staying active and sharing her journey to health with others. As you can imagine Sarah has struggled both physically and emotionally with the “Extra Skin” issues. Referred to as “Shrinkles” by fellow WLS patients (the skins wrinkled appearance is not from age but from shrinking!) It is a side effect most WLS patients dread. For some the excess skin cause terrible health issues and sadly is not covered by many insurance policies. Sarah was the Inaugrual Reconstructive Surgery Grant Recipient and received her grant at the Las Vegas Mother of All Meet & Greets this past May. There was not a dry eye in the house as Sarah made her beautiful speech as she accepted her grant. Sarah will have her surgery performed by Dr. Timothy Katzen via the WLSFA Grants Program in September of this year.
