Lisa Lampanelli and Eva Wickwire
On February 24th WLSFA Central Connecticut Chapter & exclusive partner Bristol Hospital officially launched their chapter program. Local Connecticut native and WLSFA National Ambassador of Hope comedian Lisa Lampanelli was in attendance to present a commitment plaque to Bariatric Surgeon Dr. Makram Gedeon of Bristol Hospital. Also in attendance were WLSFA Chapter President Patricia Miller and many chapter members. WLSFA CEO Antonia Namnath and Laura Van Tuyl, Director of the National Chapter Program attended as did many Bristol Hospital executives including Eva Wickwire, Karen Roy, Dennis Perrone, Chris Ann Meaney and other medical professionals from the hospital. Chapters of the WLSFA raise funds for weight loss surgery grants in their local area. Funds are raised from membership fees, donations, local fundraisers and sponsorship donations from local industry partners. The video clip below is a short glimpse into the event.

UPDATE: The Bristol Chapter funded it’s first grant for Tiffany Torres who had successful Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy surgery on December 6, 2014.
