The Weight Loss Surgery Foundation of America is also referred to as WLSFA
The WLSFA is the only nonprofit organization in the US funding grants for weight loss surgery and reconstructive surgery after weight loss.
Corporation Time Line:
April 26, 2010: Incorporated in the State of California
June 20,2010: WLSFA becomes Fiscally Sponsored Program of BLIS Foundation a 501(c) 3 Non Profit.
October 14,2011: The WLSFA Received it’s IRS Determination Letter to become a 501 (c) 3 Non Profit.
December 1, 2012: Carnie Wilson joins the WLSFA as National Ambassador of Hope

March 23,2011: Funded Inaugural Grant for Weight Loss Surgery – Mrs. Connie Bailey Dallas TX
September 27,2011: Funded Inaugural Grant for Reconstructive Plastic Surgery – Ms. Sarah Halbrook Phoenix AZ
August 15,2011: Launch Grant Referral Program – Allowing Bariatric and Plastic Surgeons to Refer their patients.
October 4,2011: Launched Emergency Grant Program for time sensitive partial Grant Requests.
October 27,2011: Funded Third Weight Loss Surgery Grant – Mr. Jose Vedro FL
November 11,2011: Funded Forth Weight Loss Surgery Grant – Mrs. Kimberly Grimes Plano TX
December 27,2011: Funded Fifth Weight Loss Surgery Grant – Mrs. Sheila Renda Springs Archer FL
January 13, 2012: Launched WLSFA Region Chapter Program First Chapters located in AL,CA, OR, UT
February 16, 2012: Funded Sixth Weight Loss Surgery Grant – Mr. Darren King Salt Lake City UT
